HRO CIGRE Šibenik 2025. – Valeria Marjanović, presentation on: “Degassing at Ambient Conditions – A Comparative Study Between Conventional XLPE and Novel Low Emission XLPE Materials.”

Today at CIGRE Šibenik, our colleague Valeria Marjanović, Materials Technologist, co-delivered an insightful presentation on:
“Degassing at Ambient Conditions – A Comparative Study Between Conventional XLPE and Novel Low Emission XLPE Materials.”

Research was a team effort that focused on one of the key challenges in cable production — the degassing process of XLPE insulation used to remove residual methane after crosslinking. This step often represents a bottleneck in manufacturing due to its duration and energy demand.

Research compared conventional XLPE with novel low-emission XLPE materials, showing that even under ambient conditions, low-emission XLPE achieves faster degassing. This innovation not only enhances production efficiency but also supports our commitment to sustainability and energy-conscious manufacturing.

We’re extremely proud of Valeria for representing our team and contributing to the advancement of modern power cable technologies!

Congratulations to the all members of research team: Maria Moubarak, Roshan Aarons, Xochitli L. Osorio Barjas, Tim Person, Silke Haberlandt!
