From the 10th to 13th of November 2013, in the hotel Croatia in Cavtat was held the 11th symposium of the Croatian branch of the International council for large electric-power systems (HRO CIGRÉ). International council for large electric-power systems is a professional association based in Paris, with membership in all five continents, whose activity covers the issues of electric-power systems and their components, i.e. it is engaged in the development, construction, operation and maintenance of electric-power systems and their elements.
During four days at the Symposium gathered around 500 experts, and this year again the host was Hrvatska elektroprivreda, the Gold sponsor was Končar elektroindustrija, while Elka sponsored the group B1 (Insulated cables).
Among other guests, the gathering was attended by the CIGRE representatives from Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Discussions about 229 papers were held in 15 groups according to the preferential subjects of this Symposium. The professional work of the Symposium started on Monday, the 11th of November, and was held simultaneously in four halls. ELKA appeared in Section Subsystems, Group B1 – Insulated cables with two professional topics: “New generation of medium-voltage power cables” (Jordanić, Elez) and “Additional testing of MV cables by impulse voltage of increased amount – Peak test” (Jordanić).
The 11th Symposim HRO CIGRÉ was organized in cooperation with HKIE, according to the annual program of professional training of licensed electrical engineers. The Symposium participants gained 20 points under the Ordinance on licensing exam and completion and improvement of knowledge of persons engaged in regional planning and construction (Official Gazette 24/08).
The general opinion of the participants is that the work on the 11th Symposium HRO CIGRÉ was well organized and successful. At the Symposium one could also see the interesting technical exhibitions of the sponsoring companies, which used this occasion to present through exhibition and interesting lectures their new products and services.
