In organization of the Association for energy Zagreb,  Energo Media Service and the portal croenergo.eu, the coo-organization of the European enterprise network in Croatia at the Croatian chamber of commerce, and under the general sponsorship of the City of Zagreb – the City office for energy, environmental protection and sustainable development, yesterday evening in the presence of the Minister for environment and nature protection, Mr. Mihael Zmajlović and the director of the City office for energy, environmental protection and sustainable development of the City of Zagreb, Mr. Marijan Maras, at the hotel DoubleTree by Hilton were awarded in a total of 10 categories for the second year in a row, the awards  ‘GREENOVATION 2013’, recognizing thus the leaders of the Croatian green economy.

GREENOVATION is the first Croatian award for the development of green economy, and it is awarded by the Association for energy Zagreb and the company  Energo Media Servis d.o.o. after a public tender. This year it was awarded for the second time in a row, in 10 categories, with a special award related to this year’s theme of the tender “green building”. The aim of the award is to systematically encourage the business community to develop green and competitive products, services and technologies, and through the reward system have been identified leading Croatian programs, entrepreneurial projects and journalists in the field of green economy.

In the category “Best manager of Croatian green economy”, the award went to Mr. David Burcar from the company ELKA d.o.o. for the project “Implementation of energy efficiency measures in the lighting system of the plant ELKA. The prize winners also win the right to use and state over a 5-year period the GREEN MARK, which in the Republic of Croatia uses 60 institutions and legal entities.
