A general BiH fair ZEPS 2007 took place from October 16 – 21 in Zenica. 650 exhibitors from 36 countries presented their products and services at 25 000 square meters of exhibition area. The fair attended 40 exhibitors from Croatia in the organization of the Croatian chamber of trade, who have presented their plastic, metal, ceramic and other products.

By the end of the next month, to be precise, on October 21, Elka will celebrate 80 years of its business activities in cable production. During its existence Elka has passed a long way from a relatively small factory at the outskirts of town to a leading cable producing company in the region. Starting with some 70 employees and 80 tons of produced cables and insulated conductors, nowadays we have over 500 employees and a yearly production of approx. 25 000 tons in our plants in Zagreb and Zadar.

Late in the night or In the early morning hours of 16.06.2007 we started on our one-day trip to Venice. After a 6-hour drive through Slovenia and Italy, at 7.30 a.m. we arrived at Punta Sabbioni pier, where we took a small ship which brought us to Venice after a half-hour pleasant drive.

Construction and renovation fair took place from 22. – 26. 05. 2007. at 13 000 m2 of indoor and open area of Skenderija center. Some 350 exhibitors and co-exhibitors from 20 countries presented their products and the latest achievements in the area of civil engineering and the supporting construction industry.

A leading technology fair in the world – Hannover Messe, took place from April 16 – 20. As a fair of exceptional significance for the German economy, it was opened by the german Prime Minister Angela Markel together with the Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, representing the country partner.

The President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Stjepan Mesić and his associates visited our factory on March 23, 2007.

The second Jobs and Careers Fair, organized by leading student associations AISEC, BEST and SSFER took place on March 13 and 14 in the Student Center in Zagreb.
SPiKA is a unique event enabling students and young entrepreneurs to get insight into employment possibilities and career development and get acquainted with the best companies in Croatia.

In the organization of the Agency for export promotion and the Croatian Embassy in Albania, on February 23, 2007 was realized a meeting of the Croatian cable and electric materials producers with the Albanian companies as possible buyers. First we visited the Albanian agency for export promotion where we got the basic information on the Albanian economy, on their development plans and prospects. After that we went to our Embassy where we got more details and a better insight in the occurrences which enabled us to estimate the possibilities of the Albanian market.

In the organization of the Zagreb Chamber seven Croatian companies presented themselves at the international Power Equipment Fair Middle East Electricity 2007., held from February 11 to 14 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

On December 9, 2006, a group of ELKA’s employees, all in a very good mood, started for a one-day trip to the one of the most beautiful capitals in the world.

With the help of the main sponsor ELKA kabeli d.o.o. Kyokushin Karate clubs Elka and Maksimir organized the competition under the name ELKA CHRISTMAS CUP.
The Christmas Cups are traditional (there have been 12 competitions till now).
