Zagreb, January 20, 2010 – Elka kabeli, the leading company for cable production in this part of Europe with more than 80 years of business tradition, formally marked the opening of the new plant for the production of medium- and high-voltage power cables. With this new plant Elka has ranged itself within a small number of the world cable producers, able to produce power cables of the level exceeding 36 kV, what will significantly increase its production and export capacities.

Croatian branch of international committee for big electric-power systems – CIGRE, organizes the 9th Symposium on electric-power systems in Croatia, to be held in Cavtat from November 8 – 12.

Croatian chamber of commerce organizes participation of Croatian companies at the most important fair manifestation in Montenegro – the Construction Fair in Budva, to be held from September 23 – 27, 2009.

One of the most important economic manifestations in the region – the international fair “Construction and Rebuilding 2009” will take place from 19th to 22nd of May in the organization or the Sarajevo Fair in the Skenderija Center.

The biggest world fair of industrial technology – Hannover Messe, will take place from 20th till 24th of April, under the slogan „Get new technology first“. The main motive of this year’s fair is power efficiency in industrial processes with a special accent on wind power exploitation.

Within the Croatian exhibition area Elka will present itself for the first time to the Bulgarian market at the most important building fair in the country – the Bulgarian Building week, which will take place from 10th to 14th of March.

In December 2008 took place the 15th Christmas cup – Elka in the organization of the Karate club Elka and under the sponsorship of Elka kabeli d.o.o. This international karate competition gathered 104 participants from Croatia and Hungary who were competing in all age groups.

Nordic days in Croatia, a conference fair organized for the fifth time in a row by the Nordic chamber of commerce and the embassies of Denmark, Island and Norway, took place on 24th and 25th of November this year at the Zagreb fair.

Within the Croatian exhibition area, Elka will present itself for the first time to the Albanian market on the most significant fair manifestation – PANAIR 2008, which will take place from 25th to 30th November in Tirana.

In the organization of the Croatian branch of the international board for large electric power supply systems – CIGRE, Elka kabeli will participate at the 8th symposium on the EES system management, which will take place from 9th to 12th of November in Cavtat.

For the second time Elka kabeli will present its production program on the 34th international fair of metallurgy, electronics, nonmetals and construction – Tehnoma 2008, which will take place from 14th to 18th of October in Skopje.

From Tuesday, October 7 till Sunday, October 12, in Zenica will take place the 15th General business fair – ZEPS, featuring as a central event of production, service and export possibilities of all segments of Bosnia and Herzegovina economy.
