By the present catalogue ELKA is introducing to the market and new generation of halogen free, flame-retardant and flame-resistant shipboard and off shore cables whose main features are:

reduced flame propagation
reduced emission of smoke-gasses
prolonged cable function in fire conditions
absence of halogenous materials
absence of toxic gasses in fire conditions
resistance to oils and lubricants
resistance to scraping and vibrations
smaller diameters and cable weights
easier layingpursuant to the requests of the standard “IEC 60092: Electrical installation in ships” and the regulations of the Certification societies such as: Lloyd’s Register of Ship ping, Det Norske Veritas, Bureau Veritas, RINA, Germanische Lloyd’s, Croatian Register of Shipping, and others.

The new generation of the shipboard cables has been checked in a number of tests in indoor and exterior laboratories during the development, certification and commercial- acceptance procedures. The fitted insulation and protective sheaths materials, are halogen free, polyolefyne compounds, tested acc. to IEC 60754-1, partly of our own production, the self-extinguishing feature of the fitted materials improves the resistance to the flame-propagation along the cables, as tested acc. to IEC 60332-3 for category A, along with the considerable reduction of the gas quantity and density, as checked acc. to IEC 1034.

All examinations during the cable production are performed in accoradance with the Control Programme under the proce dures of the Quality Assurance System, for which ELKA has received ISO 9001 Certificate from SGS-ICSAG.
