Jobs and careers fair, known as SPIKa, organized by the leading student associations ATESEC, BEST and SSFER, took place on March 21 and 22 in the area of the Student Centre in Zagreb.
The head of the Zagreb University had formally opened the Fair and has expressed her pleasure that the joint endeavor of the leading student associations has resulted in the organization of such a fair which will help the students to enter more easily the labor market.
The fair was developed by uniting of the two major projects within the Zagreb University, which were held till this year under the names of Carrer Day and Job Fair.
The students got the opportunity to become familiar with the trends at the labor market and to acquire more information on the leading companies which need high-quality and highly educated specialists, and at the same time the employers were able to present themselves to the young and ambitious people who will shortly seek a workplace.
Elka kabeli, which is traditionally present at the Job Fair, took again this occasion to present its products and to render directly more detailed information to the students on the possibilities of employment and of career development.
The students visiting Elka’s stand informed themselves on the salaries, on current vacancies, and on the possibilities of further education, professional practice and part-time jobs.
Some of them (mostly from the Faculty of electrical engineering and informatics) showed an exceptional interest in Elka and the cable producing industry generally).
From March 21 to 22 the fair was visited by more than 12 thousands of students from almost all faculties.
Beside Elka kabeli, the Jobs and careers fair has gathered also the other important names from the Croatian economic circle, such as Agrokor, Dalekovod, Ericsson, Janaf, Končar, PBZ, Siemens, T-Com, T-Mobile, Vip and other.
Some fifteen companies have presented themselves in more details to the possible employees in one-hour presentations.
