This year again Elka kabeli will exhibit at the international power equipment fair MIDDLE EAST ELECTRICITY to be held in the Dubai International Exhibition Center.
ELKA kabeli d.o.o., a leading cable producer in this part of Europe, has awarded scholarships to four 3rd and 4th-year students of the Faculty for electrical engineering and informatics.
Karate club ELKA marked the eightieth anniversary of Elka kabeli by organizing the International contest under the name Elka 80 – CUP. The contest gathered 116 karateists from Croatia and Hungary who competed in all age categories. 98 fights took place In an exceptionally correct and fair atmosphere. The junior team of the Karate club Elka achieved excellent results by winning one gold, one silver and 2 bronze medals.
Ana Horvat, secretary of the Management of ELKA kabeli d.o.o., received this year award for best secretary in large companies.
At the eighth symposium of the Croatian branch of the International council for large electric-power systems (CIGRE), held in Cavtat from 4th to 8th November, participated almost 1200 representatives of Croatian and European companies.
On the occasion of marking one century of light in Zagreb, Elektra Zagrreb has awarded its business partners, and among them also Elka, with a Charter for a long term successful business co-operation. Elka kabeli and Elektra Zagreb participated together on numerous projects conducted by the Municipal office for space arranging, environmental protection, city building, construction, municipal works and traffic.
“Skopje fair” Tehnoma took place from 23rd to 27th of October 2007 at 25 000 square meters area whereof 16 000 covered and arranged in 6 exhibition halls located in Skopje. This is the biggest fair of that sort at the Macedonian area specialized for technology, with the emphasize on electrical industry. The fair presented products and services for more than 50 000 visitors. Over 300 exhibitors and co-exhibitors from some twenty countries participated at the fair, with Greece as the guest country.
On October 23, the oldest Croatian cable producing factory celebrated 80 years of successful business operations. Instead of usual celebrations, at the day of its anniversary Elka donated 350.000 kunas worth informatics equipment to elementary schools throughout Croatia. By this donation 80 computers for 80 years, Elka has demonstrated its business mission, i.e. promotion of knowledge and its values.
During a short press conference on the occasion of Elka’s 80th anniversary, attended by the representatives of the partner-companies and marked by a valued donation of 350.000 kunas worth informatics equipment, were also released the financial results for the first 9 months.
A general BiH fair ZEPS 2007 took place from October 16 – 21 in Zenica. 650 exhibitors from 36 countries presented their products and services at 25 000 square meters of exhibition area. The fair attended 40 exhibitors from Croatia in the organization of the Croatian chamber of trade, who have presented their plastic, metal, ceramic and other products.
By the end of the next month, to be precise, on October 21, Elka will celebrate 80 years of its business activities in cable production. During its existence Elka has passed a long way from a relatively small factory at the outskirts of town to a leading cable producing company in the region. Starting with some 70 employees and 80 tons of produced cables and insulated conductors, nowadays we have over 500 employees and a yearly production of approx. 25 000 tons in our plants in Zagreb and Zadar.
Late in the night or In the early morning hours of 16.06.2007 we started on our one-day trip to Venice. After a 6-hour drive through Slovenia and Italy, at 7.30 a.m. we arrived at Punta Sabbioni pier, where we took a small ship which brought us to Venice after a half-hour pleasant drive.
